Valdirene Da Cruz is charged with mayhem, assault and battery causing serious bodily injury, and breaking and entering during the nighttime to commit a felony, Milford police said.

Da Cruz and two men broke into a Milford home around 3 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 21. A fight broke out during the incident between Da Cruz and a woman inside the home. That's when police say Da Cruz bit the woman's lip, causing "deep lacerations."

The injured woman went to the Milford Police Department, where they contacted paramedics to treat her.

The two men who were allegedly with Da Cruz will also be charged in the break-in. Police did not release their names.
